Emily In Paris - Write anything when you don't know what to write.

 I don't know what to write. What to say. Who do I aim a post towards? How do I begin when I have no start and no actual thoughts? 

Currently sat here watching Emily in Paris, thinking about how nice her Instagram posts are. Nice and simple. She's making the most of her time in a new place. Her style is something .......else. But I like it. Her friend is fabulous and speaks what we are all thinking. Can we all be that free? Can we all just flounce about the world going ooh look at this cool thing?

Its quite funny seeing the contrast between French culture and American Culture through British eyes. We can understand the romance, bitchyness and attitude from the French side due to a long and complicated relationship with our nearest neighbours. Along with the assertive, me first, culture blinded way of the American side which we are partly responsible for beginning. 

The writers of this show have caught the right tone with this, both sides of the culture battle being shown are being allowed to shine through and still learn a little something of each other. I didn't expect to like this show at all but 4 episodes in I can't stop watching. 

Things I know I want now:

  • A long selfie stick, I know how last decade of me but sometimes my arms are just not long enough to get everyone in the shot.
  • A necklace to hang my phone from. 
  • A better sense of style.
  • A bakery on the corner on my way to work.
  • An Instagram following but also want to remain anonymous. Not sure thats possible though. Is that just the modern era for you? 
Anyhow, I'm off to make a cup of tea so that I can eat a sweet treat while watching more Emily in Paris before bedtime.

Well here is a challenge!  My husband asked me what I'd like to do for my 40th which is coming in 10 months. I said I'm not sure. There's lots of things I'd like to do really. Campsite TV - What is it and how do I get in on the action?

When going tenting like we do, one of our favourite pastimes is Campsite TV. This doesn't mean getting out an aerial and looking for some signal while shouting "left, a bit right a bit!". I mean the comings and goings of other people on the campsite. The caravans, campervans, the tents, the site staff all going about their business without a care in the world. In my view, the best campsite TV occurs when you've been pitched for a couple of days and know the lay of the land so you can sit and judge others, (only in a kindly fashion), on where they believe the best spot is for them. It is particularly funny if the wind is blowing a bit hard or if this is a new or borrowed tent and they have no idea how to pitch it. Then you get to watch them pitching their tent / place the caravan and see how it was all jammed into their cars, wonder at the amount or lack of things other people have. 3 Peaks in 3 Weeks - Volume 1

This summer holidays we decided to go on a road trip. Not just any road trip but a camp around the UK. 3 nights here, 4 nights there, maybe a hotel overnight as a pit stop and tour the sights. This is a long tale and so I will need to break it up into bits. During this holiday we realized that it might be possible to see all three of the highest peaks in the UK. Mount Snowden in Wales, Scafell Pike in England and Ben Nevis in Scotland. Would we manage it by the end? Do you have to climb the 3 peaks to still enjoy them?
