Making a logo is hard!

Here at Just Pick One we often have difficulties making decisions. As per a previous post on the subject, adulting is just a constant stream of decision making and it can be exhausting and difficult to do, especially when the whole look and feel of a new channel and blog are at stake.

I've been wanting to make my blog look and feel right for a while and I have been tweaking things constantly to make it sit right. I still don't think I am there yet and I shall be tweaking again tonight when I have eaten my dinner.

My YouTube channel is no different and I just quickly mocked up something that would do for now. But not I've got quite a few views and I will be making more and more content going forward, I wanted a new logo to make it look more professional and something I can be proud of when I see it.

I have very limited artistic skills and less when it comes to designing something like this on a computer which only just has paint.net on it. I was fiddling around online and came across a myriad of sites that will help you make your logo for "free". Please be careful with sites like this, it's never free. Either you sign up to a service which you actually only want once, you will get bombarded with emails about making more things, up selling on some of their services or they will sell your information to the next bidder.

I checked out the terms of service of one of them which had a lovely design I would be happy with. It turned out that they would have the right to use any and all of my content for their own purposes. Essentially they could copy and paste everything I wrote, filmed etc and I would have no come back to get them to take it down.

I also believe that Adobe is going to (if not done already) be putting in something similar in their terms of service and this will include Photoshop. Any picture adjusted with Photoshop would become theirs to be able to do as they please. No thank you, that's not for me.

Hubby directed me to Microsoft and their AI picture builder. I just needed to enter in a few design choices and it gave me a few options each time. There were so many to choose from I almost didn't manage to whittle it down, but I just decided to go with my gut and take the advice of the blog name and I picked one.

The new logo design which captures my photos, filming and blogging that I do under the banner of JustPickOneUK and here it is.

Happily I love it and it actually incorporates the colours I had at my wedding which was a total accident but clearly meant to be.

Until next time

Xx
