Blocked by Robots!
Its a very curious thing having a website. You'd think one of the biggest issues would be updating it regularly or preventing the information from getting into the wrong hands. But when I got an email this morning I was shocked to see one of the reasons my website wasn't being seen or not doing as well as it could on Google Search.
The following my or may not be inspired by recent events:
"I've added paper to the printer, I have updated the drivers, I have connected it to the WiFi, I have checked the cartridges and checked for blockages, just print my one page form so I can sign it and send it off...................."cannot locate printer"...................... *&^£W$%&*!!!!!!!"
I am also the person who will try the usual things like turn it off and back on again, remove the plug while doing so, check the trouble shooter if available and re-read the manual before handing it over to IT to fix a problem.
But what do I do with this Google?!? Blocked by Robots. Even they don't want to play with my website where I just let people know a bit about me, the blog and my latest video on YouTube. Dear Robots, How is this a blockable offence?
I realise that there is most likely a software engineer out there who will know the easy answer to this and it will probably involve changing a line of code somewhere but as an end user who just wants a simple site out there which can re-direct to my YouTube channel and have contact info on it....this is just mad.
*Takes deep breath and begins looking for an answer in the troubleshooting side of the internet
Until Next Time
xx
