Celebrating big round numbers!

Well its official the blog has had over 10000 views. I suspect most of them are bots given the locations of the supposed people reading the page but I don't care right now as 10000 is a big number. 

I was wondering why does reaching round numbers mean so much. 9999 is a sizable amount of people and yet its not 10000 is it? Why does the human brain function better with finality? I don't have an answer and I expect there is a lovely rabbit hole I could dive down but I don't care enough about that right now as all I am choosing to concentrate on it that I have had 10000 views on the blog! 

When I started this blog as a way of getting thoughts out of my brain rather than having them sit there stewing in a melting pot of other randomness I didn't really think it would get this far. The blog then morphed into a YouTube channel which took over most of my capacity. But I love that it is still here as there are times when just writing things out as I think them feels right in that moment. 

Like right now I am just typing out what my brain is thinking next. Although my brain is also playing the song "In a New York minute" by Don Henley on repeat because I heard it on my 10th rewatch of The West Wing the other day......not important get back on topic. 

Its lovely to think back over the past 2 years now...how has it been that long?.....That this blog is still here like a diary whenever I have a thought that I feel requires talking about. 

If this was a diary, I would have lost it a long time ago under the bed or in a pile of other books which will remain the pile of unforgotten forgotten. I am glad it is still here and for some people at least I hope they have had some joy in reading something I wrote, or it will serve as something my family can talk about in a eulogy some day. 

But for now the JustPickOne blog will be my safe haven for writing down random things which don't necessarily make for a good video or other content. A place where 10000 people have been to however fleetingly. 

If you have read all the way down here and like what I say in these random rants then do let me know, comment if you can, I really do have the type of brain that thrives on acknowledgement, but also simultaneously cannot accept a compliment. Go figure!

SJ Sleeper train let down - Would I do it again?

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to sleep on a train? No I don't mean passing out in a carriage surrounded by other passengers when having a panic when you woke up with a dribble of drool coming out of your mouth as you try very quickly to discover if you are still in time for your stop or if you have to get off at the next available one and do a double back ride of shame..... I mean sleep in a small room all to yourself like in the Agatha Christie novel Murder on the Orient Express. 40 before 40! The Full List

Well here is a challenge!  My husband asked me what I'd like to do for my 40th which is coming in 10 months. I said I'm not sure. There's lots of things I'd like to do really. I'd love to travel, eat nice things, see family, be productive at home, be alone, so quite a mixture really. Then it came to me while watching another YouTuber (Paul Messner) talk about the impact of doing something different. I'd like to do 40 things before I turn 40. These could be small and take a day to do. They could be big and take a week to do. Some things will take time, money and planning. They can be huge and take all 10 months. But all of them should be an experience, achieve a goal and / or improve my life in some way.  Doing the adventure of the UK road trip has really inspired me that things like that are possible.
